[Scene: Inside a small office. Okon and Chinedu sit anxiously waiting for their job interview. Chinedu is dressed sharply while Okon looks a bit unkempt.]
Chinedu: (whispering to Okon) Abeg, calm down Okon. Remember wetin we talk. Just dey yourself and answer their questions with confidence.
Okon: (nervously) E easy for mouth, Chinedu. Wetin if dem ask me about my former job?
Chinedu: (encouragingly) Just tell dem about your work as palm wine tapper. You sabi climb tree well well!
[The receptionist calls Okon’s name. He stands up, trying to compose himself.]
Receptionist: Mr. Okon, dem dey wait for you.
[Okon enters the interview room, with Chinedu following closely behind. Mr. Johnson, the interviewer, sits at the desk.]
Mr. Johnson: Good morning, Mr. Okon. Sit down.
Okon: (nervously) Good morning, sir. Thank you.
[Okon sits down, fidgeting with his hands.]
Mr. Johnson: So, Mr. Okon, tell me about your former work.
Okon: (clears throat) Well, sir, I get plenty experience for palm wine tapping. I fit climb any tree!
[Chinedu stifles a laugh in the background.]
Mr. Johnson: (raising an eyebrow) Palm wine tapping, you talk? Na im you dey do?
Okon: (enthusiastically) Yes, sir! My papa, papa na palm wine tapper, so na my blood dey run am! Plus, the view from the top dey sweet well well.
[Chinedu struggles to hold in his laughter.]
Mr. Johnson: (trying to stay serious) I see. Well, Mr. Okon, your experience na… unique, but I no sure if e fit the job we dey find person for.
Okon: (disappointed) I understand, sir. Thank you for your time.
[Okon stands to leave, with Chinedu following.]
Chinedu: (whispering to Okon) No worry Okon, we go find better job for you, even if e no be climbing tree.
[As they leave, Okon looks sad, but Chinedu gives him a pat on the back.]
Chinedu: (smiling) Who sabi, maybe one day you go be CEO for palm wine company!
[They both laugh as they walk away, ready to face whatever dey come their way.]
